My 60 Series has 2 old school pop up glass sunroofs fitted and I'd quite like to get rid of them.

One of them is leaking and they are both covered with silicone from previous attempts to stop leaks.

Anyone ever tried this on a 60 series? It has ridges in the roof so I'm not sure what the best approach would be?

Should I try to get new metal shaped to match the roof or wait till I can find a roof to chop some panels out of?

If it was me and I had a workshop to do it in, I would either wait for a donor roof or even consider a look at fabricating a pop up roof conversion.

I have found a donor, although we've not agreed a price as yet.. the guy who is selling is convinced that he's going to find someone who wants to rebuild it but to be honest if you don't have another one that's fairly complete then it's too far gone. I like the idea of a pop top but also like the idea of returning it to as original as possible.

Or as a temporary measure, get some vinal wrap, the stuff they use to cover cars with and get the whole roof covered, will keep the water out then.
Not such a problem in Zimbabwe, I can use the 100 when it rains.

Fibreglass lets you take a mould of an original roof if you know someone will let you take one off their truck , just patch it in from the inside
