Hello,
I'm new to this forum and seeking a bit of help. Probably discussed already but cannot find thread.
My 2004 Prado 120 1KDFTV started having issues accelerating. Sudden loss of power on speeds over 110 km/h or while accelerating harder.
Engine noise seems fine, no rattling or any of those sort. Idle is also fine. MAF sensor has been replaced a year ago because I had a similar issue and issues going uphill.
Tried cleaning MAF sensor and it did nothing. Cannot take it to the mechanic for a week so I'm asking for any advice possible.
When I contacted my mechanic he thinks its a fuel related issue.
Car is now 250 000 km and I'm trying to keep it pretty preserved cause I inherited it from my father and he loved that car so any help would be great.
Did not check the EGR, might be worth also, talked with my mechanic about cleaning it but he says is to be replaced if faulty and not try and clean it.
Not so handy but might try cleaning EGR myself in couple of weeks when I get my garage ready, watched a couple of videos already and doesn't seem to be that hard as my mechanic tells me.
Thanks!
