Auto Gear Stick loose on 4th and 1st gears

Hello everyone !

I have just happily joined this forum.

I have a Prado 120 4lt Gas V6 (2004 model) with Automatic Gearbox : P,R, D, 4, 3, 2, L.

The gear stick cannot lock anymore on 4 and L (I can engage manually) otherwise all is working.

I replaced the entire part in the past once but even 2nd hand is expensive.

Is there a small plastic part, or spring that I can easily replace with? (Could use 3d printer as well).

Hello and welcome !
I had this on my 120, the spring is weak and the plunger not long enough and gets ejected, putting them back in produces the same results after a very short time.
Unless the nylon collar in yours is broken, (not just a small separate part) there is/was a guy on PradoPoint supplying an updated spring and longer plunger for not much money including fast shipping (in my case uk)
It solved the problem immediately, and the gear shift is much more firmer and direct now, in every position.
This was a couple of years ago and I don't have his contact details, but a search on that forum should unearth the thread with details.
