i just replaced my OEM alternator . for a high amp output alternator. now battery warning light came on . I'm getting a solid 14 volts and my battery is holding a charge. dose anyone if the 3 wire connector that gets plugged in to the alternator have anything to do with the battery warning light?

It also handles excitation and importantly the battery sense wire. There is IIRC a chart of all the pinouts on Google that can be used to check that what you’ve removed corresponds to what you’ve fitted.

Here’s the Toyota ones

Have a google with the model number and make of your new one to cross check.
