CCTV specialist PLEASE!

I have had CCTV installed at the house. The installer supplied a recorder with "Floureon" on the front but told me it had Samsung software on it. Is that possible please? Looks like Samsung recorders are more expensive than Floureon ones and I wonder if I've been taken.
