eu in or out poll

Wouldn't it be great if we all had political systems like the Swiss.
Binding referendums because the politicos do not always know better
than we of the common herd.It might just cut down on the chaos going
on in the world at the moment.

"Growing up I was taught never to speak about politics or religion. Could that be the reason why I live in Switzerland?

Our politicians tried at least twice for us to join the EU but we the people voted no. Wise decision in my honest opinion. Once your in, its hard to leave.

Good luck to all of you in the UK. !"

Did your pro eu politicians warn of impending doom "backed up" by impossible to forsee figures and percentages that they may as well have pulled out of there backsides?

Very little reported anywhere except the Express and UK Column  which would make you question the reports reliabilty

I agree, however I must add I don't trust the bbc to be impartial, along with the rest of the mainstream media.

Has anyone else noticed that as we get closer to the in or out vote, reporting on the migrant crisis has virtually ceased, nothing about the financial crisis in EU countries like Italy, Greece or France either.
I’m wondering if the media has been censored by the government or are they all pro EU and reluctant to air anything negative about remaining in?

I was reading this weekend in a piece about the rise in electoral strength of the German far right, that although Angela is still talking about a welcome for everyone in Germany the numbers are well down because of the closure of borders further east. Big news last week of the UK refusing entry for 3000 kids. And a boat off Libya going down today. Certainly reporting today of trades union unrest in Paris. Must admit to not having seen much if anything about the Italian economy for a long time.

Although it should be the bbc isnt impartial. Its pro left wing, pro european, pro immigration and pro globel warming. Ordinarily this wouldnt matter, but as i have to pay for this and happen not to agree with any of the above, it does matter..

That's three items, but you must admit the reports have been much fewer.

Yes, although the point of mentioning the closing of borders was that perhaps there is currently as migration slow-down and so fewer migration stories in the EU. The economic stories tend to want an event. A negotiation or demonstration. I'm sure Greece is still f***ed, but just being as f***ed as last month isn't that newsworthy. The Brexit campaigning stories themselves are taking up news minutes that in quieter weeks may have had stories from the rest of Europe in them.

Yes, Shengen. So it'll be all of EU, stopping at Calais. Well - "stopping"

They certainly do seem hell-bent on self destruction.

What happens when you lot in UK need a visa to on holiday to Spain, Porto France etc? (bugger might mean me too! - I'm taking my French citizenship test!) Not going to be cheap that. Then there is the delay - might have to apply 3 months ahead of travel date.......no more nipping across the water on Ryanair for a dirty weekend :(

Just a thought??????

I wonder if the Shengen visa would still exist and be available to the the British? South African friends of mine get a Shengen visa which is valid for 3(5?) years and allows travel all over.

Or, as we are all up for copying the European suceess of Norway and Switzerland, perhaps we'll join it. I assume we'd push for mutual recognition between UK and Shengen, as lots of countries have, so we don't need a visa to enter, and Shengen citizens don't need one to come here. So the same as now but with no input over who joins Shengen.

If we get out of this damn union i predict Britain will need to import workers to keep up with the industry boom but that will be 5 years down the line and the arrivals will be welcome that's when the pension pot will start to grow .

I have just had a read of how the EU commissioner and commission are
appointed.I find it hard to believe that proud nations such as the UK
France,Italy etc could subject themselves to tyrannical rule by what seems to me some very misguided people who I consider lack vision for the well being of the nations of Europe. The so called migrant agreement with Turkey is so stupid that again, what fools dreamed it up?
Is the government of Turkey trustworthy?
I hope the vote is to leave and I am sure others will follow.
