Still a long way to Germany from here, but worth considering...

It's only about 500 miles from me, I'm thinking about it.

I bet there was some really unusual cruisers there.

Lovin' the 70 series double cab, why don't they bring that to the uk.
I'm sure they would sell if the price was right

I like the brown 45 Stan.

Hope last weekend went well for you.

Because it comes with a 4.5 V8 Diesel, and has minimal safety features (about on a par with a LR)

Over here in Aus they're $65k +, there was one for sale locally at the main dealer for $69k IIRC.

Personally, I think it would be a great truck with a 3.0 diesel in it, we know that the 3.0 works in a 70 with the KZJ78's from Japan, so I think it would work in the double cab ute.

The challenge is that it would take sales from the HiLux...

What is interesting is that it looks like it might have European Type Approval, so makes running one in the UK a bit easier.

In Europe they are available with the 1HZ engine ,and to Euro V, all type approved..
I can get them into the UK but they are left hand drive..but if anyone wants one..
I will shortly be advertising this but its taking a bit longer than expected :icon-biggrin: to get going !

Made it back home in the HJ, the AO13 was a good do !

Thought I would do a quick summary of this event. Shame it was on the same days as Lincomb – in fact one Dutch guy mentioned he had friends at Lincomb.
Buschtaxi was all about Land Cruisers and all about overlanding. They expected around 800 land cruisers over the three days. People turn up early and the camping is good. We had fine hot weather until Saturday when the heavens opened. In retrospect we would have stayed longer. Everybody was really friendly and happy to talk about their setups. Naturally pops-ups were popular – plent of 40/60/70/80 examples.
Here are some random pics of some of the trucks – by the time we left the three fields were full of cruisers. Check out your black wheels Gav!

It was good to speak to vendors who knew about cruisers – much harder to do in the UK. We concentrated on the Dutch guys as it is closer to the UK then the German vendors, who were there in force too.
Some companies who may be of interest. Peter Moolenschot’s Lancruiser adventures http://www.landcruiseradventure.nl/ . They are a sister company to All American Imports which is a land cruiser parts business.
We met a new young company which does 60 series restoration [but not overlanding conversions L&L Cruisers http://www.lenl.eu/ We heard good reports about CruiserLand – “small company, great people” -http://www.cruiserland.nl RV4WD in Harderwijk - http://www.rv4wd.nl are reputed to be good too but apparently non-regular customers struggle a bit with them according to the people we spoke to.
One Dutch camper conversion specialist who was recommended was Paul van der Beek at PSP Expedition Campers http://www.psp-expeditioncampers.com
Also saw a nice truck by http://www.o-r-b.ch/ of Switzerland.

Looking mighty fine Si :icon-cool:

Thanks for sharing your pics - some nice rigs there :icon-cool:
