I think we already knew this?

yep its nothing new, they've been at it for decades

Huge uproar lately about this over this side too. Many premises raided in an investigation of cartel activity recently. Legally mandated to have insurance, but they operate with impunity, not required to (or cannot be compelled to) release their books to the public. They also blame the legislature for inflating whiplash awards, but refuse to disclose the value of 'out of court' settlements. They also make it as hard as possible for the public in every way.

EG. My cruiser is classed as a commercial vehicle here, therefore I must have a commercial insurance policy on it. Now I am currently looking at regular cars to buy for use in a longer daily commute. The insurers will not accept my 9 years on the cruiser as recent driving experience or count my policy NCB towards a 'new' policy. I am treated as if I just got a licence yesterday. Farce. I have a broker negotiating on my behalf to mirror the experience, but leaves me stuck with the current insurer if it works
