Injector Swap

Fwiw, I went down to route of getting refurb + exchange of old set. £980 is what it cost me fully fitted, about 6 months ago.
Do you know the make of injectors they fitted GK,that sounds like a good price for the parts and fitting?
Do you also have the part no. handy?

Having a look at some of the parts diagrams online, it looks like there might be a part number change for the injectors at some point during 2006. Maybe contact a Toyota dealer and be 100% sure what part number they recommend - just in case they are different injectors. You can then check on the Denso after market site and get the Denso part number to match.

These were denso refurb, they would not supply to me direct, which is how I ended up at a diesel specialist. Apparently they are only warrantied if fitted at a denso 'approved' place ( and they had some constraints around the coding as well )

I can get the details, but it will be other side of the weekend

Thanks GK
I'm thinking about buying the Toyota Reman set and doing the work myself

Chatted to the best garage around here this morning and I'm going to book it in for an injector check, sounds like they know what they're doing. I'll get
them to price up the job too,for Refurbs and new.

Sounds like plan, and good to consider options available diy and professional, new and refurb, as long as you trust the garage to supply/fit exactly what you want, not what they think, unless you source and supply and are confident - nowt wrong with that.
Any doubt as to what injectors are/where they come from is what Sam is trying to avoid, which can only be positive.

Yep TM,diagnosis and fitting's going to be easy.My only concern is getting a decent injector set.
I'm sure my 120 came out of the factory in Toyota city with top injectors.
I bought it with 11,000 miles, one owner,2 years old and I've enjoyed owning it.Time to look after it now...

Yep, looking after and keeping these older motors on the road is what it's all about.
The new enemy with the 120 (and others) apart from rust issues, is Fishy and the WEF.
Fortunately there are members on here that have done the job and shared their parts, sources and individual costs, which is great for those of us yet to do it.

I would trust either of these from PFJones, good price too...

I seem to recall an ex mod on here buying an scv from there on their advice with details supplied and they sent the wrong one which wasn't noticed until after fitting, and there was a hell of a row to get it returned and refunded - just sayin....
Double check everything - what you need from other sources if you already haven't, and what you actually get !
Good luck, and thanks for the pricing info.

Thanks TM,seems to be a bit of a minefield to get the right decent injectors for a good price.AndyCL posted those prices a while back.
I know I'll have to do it but I'm not looking forward to it.

You and me both mate !
The production date for a match always confuses me, for example 2006 - 2007, that could start and finish part way between those years, anything outside MAY be different - they never state a month, so you have to hope for the best. Any part numbers available checked off the original would be the clincher, rather than a year ??
It's so useful from all the posters of what parts they used /suppliers, prices and how they went about it. Thanks to those members in the past and present.

Whether you use them or not, it's got to be a good idea to talk to a Toyota dealer to match the excact part number you need - and then go from there. All Denso model numbers are matched to a Toyota part number. Takes all the guess work out of it - especially with awkward manufacture dates. I asked more than one to be sure.

I'll be doing exactly that Sam.
Enquire at Mr.T first and you should get the right part no.

Can't find 120 injectors on this site that AndyCLomas recommended, can anyone find them?
Cheers

If you whip the engine cover and intercooler off, do the numbers on the top of the injectors not refer to part number?
