My truck never needed towing! As I recall the problem was it just wanted to keep on going.
You're on form today Shayne. Still, if there's ever need for 12 calender shots of a 90 with its bonnet open in dramatic surroundings...Fair play some bush mechanics from a guy that used to work at Landrover got your 80 home , no shame in that ........... is there![]()
It's ok Clive, we know who won..... I've not bought a 90Now, now kids, play nicely![]()
As mentioned above here, it's only a problem on the medium duty cruisers. The HD cruisers have the lower ball joint the right way around.I suspect there’s a reason Toyota put an IFS Hilux into the Dakar and not a Landcruiser anymore
Wonder how they deal with the LBJ issue on the 90 series in the Classic dakar....View attachment 152258

Yeah and the upside down design makes it a bit more dangerous. The LBJ is not weak , the design floor is that when they do fail its catastrophically . Typically the boot fails allowing abrasives to get inside sanding away at what should be a tight fitting joint . Takes time any many miles to achieve failure .
