Notice: Server Upgrade and Migration

Hi all,

Advance notice so you can prepare some conversational topics with your wife ahead of time.

In the next few days I will be migrating the website over to a new server.
It's been running non-stop on the same server for just over 6 years now and it's time to move it away to a new shiny one.

I've a few things to set up and migrate first. I'll update here as and when I have a cut-over date.

When the time comes, you'll see the classic "Fixing" picture of Chas' (RIP) feet under his 80. That'll be your cue to talk to SWAMBO for a bit.

Well, update time -


It's taken a while to build the server server as I wanted to change it all around. There's a lot more in the way of security and containerisation which took me on a bit of a voyage of discovery and learning.

I _think_ it's all done and working now. I've pretty much tested everything I can and not found any issues.

I will move everyone over tomorrow and see how we fare. It'll be a fix-forward migration as once started, I cannot go back to old so will make it work if there are any teething problems

We're now running on the new server

It might be a bit slower for a few hours while it finishes building the caches etc but all up and running.
