Project 80: Codename Grey Ghost

Great work Chris.

I like the waffles underneath, good idea. :icon-biggrin:

Do you have much more to do before the big trips?

Not a great deal Ben to be honest with you. Really side steps are the only essential bit the rest is just tinsel.

Are you making or buying the sliders this time around Chris? If buying I'm keen to know which ones you would opt for.

Buying them? Grant, Buying them?

Come on

Haha .. I know I know ... but you've been a very busy man lately and the trip is fast approaching! Ok ok .. it was a purely a selfish question driven by being confused with the limited UK market. There are a few options out there ... but the ones I've found don't stack up one way or another.

Yes I'm going to make them but they will be steps not sliders
Basically same design but thinner wall section and I have set of aluminium steps which I will top them off with instead of tree fenders

You using stock steps for the top?
Might have to look at borrowing your idea for the waffles

No Gary. The GS didn't come with side steps. Someone added some after-market things that disintegrated. But the ally tops left behind are fine.

Going to be a very busy weekend. So I started with something easy. Then after the beer, I stuck this on the top of the snork.

Delivered for less than £25. Good service, satisfactory quality. Very good fit. How some people are selling these for nearly £90 is a mystery.

I have exactly the same one. Got a bit of a ribbing for choosing such a small one but it worked.

Small? It's 9" with the only other size I have seen in the 3.5" neck being 10". Ribbing over 1/2" a side? I think they truly were in need of something else to occupy them. Certainly going to filter out more than the standard head isn't it. I don't think it's truly necessary, but for £23 it'll do.

Unfortunately it is small for an 80. In fact it was small for my hilux 2.5 d4d. It just couldnt take a breath. Other than that the cyclon is useful device for desert.

Can't say I am experiencing the same. Been for a blast in it and it's no different. Noisier though than the forward facing thing, but no less performance

Yep, I could notice no difference either. I emptied it a bit more often but no effect on performance that I could detect.

You'll need to keep topping up the water in the desert or the fish wont make it

YYY
