Interesting info here:
To avoid Paris:
http://about-france.com/routes-from-calais.htm
If driving to south western and central France, avoid Paris going via Rouen, Evreux, Chartres and Orleans. There is no motorway between Evreux and Orleans, but the road over this section is currently being upgraded to dual carriageway, and over half of it is now complete ...
Toll fees:
http://about-france.com/travel.htm#tolls
So based on this, should be:
Calais-Toulouse, via Paris 52.80 €
Calais-Toulouse via Rouen, Dreux: 34.60 €
Seems the latter routing is best then, folks - cheaper and perhaps a bit faster, avoiding Paris ....
Another planning page:
http://www.autoroutes.fr/en/homepage.html
and this one I filled out:
http://www.autoroutes.fr/en/preparatives/routes.html
(dunno if it'll render properly ..)
983.5 km, and estimates 9h46m travel time ...
Fuel costs:
On 15th May 2011 typical supermarket fuel prices in France were;
Unleaded 98 octane 1.54 Euros – Unleaded 95 octane 1.50 Euros – Diesel 1.34 Euros.
In non-supermarket and motorway filling stations, petrol prices can be anything from 5 to 20 cts. a liter more expensive, depending on the location..
Cheers
