Hello, New member today with a problem, Please forgive any loss of etiquette on posting as I am at a loss with this modern technology.
Would appreciate help, think of me as your loving Grandfather and steer me in the right direction.
Well, i had started replacing bulbs in the switches for the radio antennae, rear window quarter actuators etc. and jumped into replacing bezel light in ignition ring.
The ring has an internal LED light and shouldn't be fooled with, i however pulled the Amplifier Transponder ring out and broke an internal wire, now car won't start.
Today replaced the broken unit with a working item and car won't start,
Plenty of gas, fuses O.K. etc.
Car ran fine til I started playing with it.
The Amplifier Transponder ring is a used but good item. Is it that the new unit won't recognize the working keys now that a replacement has been made.
What do i have to do in order to get vehicle to start, assuming that removing and replacing Amplifier Transponder ring is part of the problem?
Any set of procedures as shown on You Tube to get me back to where i was , quite happy til i thought i could improve things.
Would appreciate any help and will clarify actions if needed to give you a better idea for a solution.

Like you I prefer levers to buttons but I'd assume you triggered the anti theft immobilizer and there must be a way to reset it .
