It didn't last long apparently, but snow it is... :D

Did you get your skis out Clive?

This will be down to Global Warming…

We only found out about it this evening, it was posted on face ache by the volunteer "Salvamont" mountain rescue team...

It rained all night, heavy stuff with thunderstorms, so the temps dropped considerably from Friday's 32C down to about 18C at the house, and were at about 700m elevation.

Up at 2000m it can be 15 degrees less.

For every 100m of elevation you gain, you drop about 1*C; so 2000m will reliably be about 12-15 cooler than your place will be.

It's why we don't go down to the plains from here in the summer - we sit at 1,000m and get to those mid 30s... the plains are about 600m lower, and in the summer can clear 40* quite often.
