stoke mandevile

So it goes on, back to s/mandervile today, been having problems trying to close my hand make a fist, can't get fingers/stumps anywhere near the palm of my hand, they've been telling me that it was just the swelling & it would settle down, well it hasn't, saw a different surgeon today & he thinks the tendons in the palm are stuck/trapped in the sleeves that they slide in, got to have an ultra sound test but looks more than likely i have to have yet more surgery, whoopy doooo

Uggh!

Just about the last Christmas present you could have wished for.

I've heard of this being very successful with "seized" tendons in the wrist. I hope they sort you out soon enough...

Ask them about steroid injections into the tendon/sleeve. I had 'trigger finger' earlier in the year which is caused by the tendon sticking in the sleeve & growing lumps which restrict opening of the hand. After my GP had injected the hand (not fun...) it has eased massively - to the point where I did not need the 3 month follow-up injection. Worth a try?

My heart sank in my throat when I read that's it's not going right. Good luck, and hope that the guys can sort it for you.

Good luck pal.
I'm recovering from an infection in my ankle - not in the wound which closed up a treat, but in the tendon itself. Wasn't pleasant but over the worst bit.
Don't be scared to ask lots and lots of questions.

Thanks lads, got to have the ultrasound after crimbo, no date yet but see the specialist again on the 31st Jan, should know then what he's going to do.
Got very little movement now in all four knuckles & it aches like ****

Don't let it get you down Joinerman it takes time is all , minor surgery often follows more major stuff so i hope its just an outpatient clinic and an hour of your time thats on the cards . Good luck with it mate .
