i want build my fj 40 bj 78 new, with the engine from the j10 v8 4,7 liters and the gearbox from the 80 series
now i hope some buddy can help me
i need the gearbox from fzj 80 hzj80 or hdj 80 build bit 93 the short transform box with manual 2 and 4 wheel drive
the gearbox from hdj80 build 96 i have but i dont now its kompatibel with the transformbox build 93

Hello and welcome!

The transfer box from a '93 80 series will fit any of the 80 series gearboxes (manual or auto) as far as I know. However all transfer cases in the UK will be for permanent 4wheel drive. Your FJ40 will be part-time 4 wheel drive with locking front hubs, I imagine?
You can modify the transfer case for an 80 series to make it part-time 2 or 4 WD but this is more work/money as you'd need to by parts from the US or Australia I think.
Or you could keep your FJ40 permanently in 4WD by locking the hubs - the centre diff from the 80 series gearbox should mean that you'll have no issues with drive-train wind-up.
