Just curious as to what this sensor with the broken wire is for? Can't seem to find it in any diagrams via google.

Have a look at somewhere like Partsouq, their parts diagrams will most likely lead you to what the sensor is.
I'm guessing from the picture it's in the bottom of the sump? Oil pressure or temperature.
