Who is doing what maintenance today?

Ih8 mud site says that no one has ever found the settings in the FSM, someone says 12lb/in then someone says its far to high.... Most folk said "Nice and Snug....Just Nip em Mate

From the FT manual:

So last weekend was doing a little maintenance, figured I'd adjust the handbrake as wasn't great, well that turned into this weekends job!
Now have new discs, pads, handbrake shoes, calipers, flexi hoses and metal brake pipes!
Found one caliper pretty much seized and the other stiff so just fitted new.

Did an emissions test too after fitting different cat converters and doing a few other things, normally gives a bit of hassle but straight through for a change.

@Higgy You paint the tailgate the standard colour or going for something like raptor etc?
Im sure one day it will get painted Blue, But its fine as it is for now.. The thing is there is a scratch and a Dent on every Panel!!!.. I can live with it as it is..

I’m going through a should I paint it stock or black or just raptor line it all at the moment.

Now i've finally grasped that its the polishing it off rather than the putting it on that makes the difference i can see my 90 getting a full rattlecan respray at some point . Rattlecan paint mixed to match from a specialist is entirely different from any of the shelf colour code paint .

I used Motornutz Paint specialists for a match up for the LC5.. I emailed them all the specifics and codes and asked them "Is it definitely Metallic" etc etc... When it arrived iv never known a colour be so far from the original, And it was definitely NOT metallic.. Never even responded to my emails.... The specialist paint mixers are Good, But id avoid the on line ones.... JMO Shayne...

Agreed Higgy it took me years to find one i could drive to in Cardiff and even then there was much debate about what Toyota 202 they should mix out of a possible 4 or 5 i'm guessing from the glance i got of the computer . The decided on solution i liked very much "phone the old guy he will know"

Third brake light leaking from silly original Toyota gasket, removed, cleaned old gasket off and resealed the heck out of it with RTV Silicone Instant Gasket Waterproof Adhesive Sealant, it don't leak anymore. :)

Bit of maintenance on the 80 but not done by me! Mot passed no issues as expected and annual oil change.

My work won't allow staff cars in the workshop anymore so a friend picked the 80 up and took it to his garage. He enjoyed working on something a little different.

70000 mile service done by Toyota today. Got a call saying that one of the front brake calipers has seized, something wrong with a tie or track rod, can't remember what he said and a rear bush that is split all covered by the warranty so they are replacing them all on Monday.

Didn't expect any of this and I am really happy I took out the extended warranty. Even more impressed that the dealer took the initiative to start the claim before even telling me anything was wrong.

Just had a quick look at the Troopy for it's MOT on Monday, looks ok but what do I know

No start again this morning, a jump start from my Sisters Micra saved the day! The batteries are 5 years old this month. The passenger side is the worst dropping to barely 8v on startup, the other one not too bad at 10.9v despite a full charge last week so 2 new Vartas in today.
After the full (separate) charge of each battery last weekend I measured the capacity after standing for 2 days and they were down to 44 & 67%. The previous (identical) pair lasted 9 years.

I keep my two Vartas connected to an Optimate when not in use.

I bought one of these last month after my Halfords charger packed up after many years of dependable use. The Ring charger has numerous charge modes plus battery capacity, voltage drop and vehicle charge voltage check.......

Had half an hour free so had a little go with some colour balm for the leather.
Seats aren't in bad condition but a few areas need TLC.
Well a quick clean (could easily spend a couple of hours doing that) apply some balm, buff it up then cream over the top.

I've got a small area that needs a repair on the base, have a repair kit that will sort that.

I'm impressed with the results for a quick try on that area, I'll do all the seats at some point. Will see how hard wearing it it
