    Thanks, I will.

    Outside front tyre wear

No idea, not in my ownership. I'll get the garage to adjust it when it goes back in for the other bits. I can't be doing with the wear at this rate.

    Outside front tyre wear

The fronts have worn more on the NS than the OS, I put that down to roundabouts. I don't drive quickly, I take it easy. I've only done about 12k on them and they're almost down to the legal limit on the edges. I should have rotated them but I haven't, my fault. I've gone from 15k miles a year...

    Outside front tyre wear

Thank you for that. Everything on the bearing, joint and bush side is good, so I think it's the toe-in, or out, that needs adjusting. I'm no mechanic unfortunately, I called it camber today. It's going back to the garage in a couple of weeks for a few little bits, and one big bit (the A/C...

    Outside front tyre wear

Evening all, Just got my car back from a service and MoT (passed, yay, not that it shouldn't have), but my front tyres do seem to wear on the outside a lot. I think this is one of those "they all do that, sir" things, since a gent up the road has one and we had a chat a few months ago and his...

Thanks both, and thanks for the photos Towpack, nice installation :) I have a few chores to do but will see if I can find the grommet, I do love running cable. Next I need to work out how and where I'm going to feed the antenna. It won't be permanently fixed, I'l use a mag mount and probably...

    Amateur radio installation

Evening, I've upgraded my home VHF/UHF radio so have a Kenwood TM-D71E I want to put in the car. Any advice on where to put it and run power? I think I'd like to run the DC from the battery (I'll put Anderson PowerPoles on the end), are there any gaps in the firewall I can use? I don't fancy...

I'm not affiliated with this company: https://www.aldridgesecurity.co.uk/silca-2387-silca-toy48brs2-2-button-remote-case-to-suit-lexus-toyota.html It says it's for the LC100 up to 2003, however it's exactly the same cut (as far as I can tell from the image) as my...

    Keys

This is timely. I wanted to change the battery in my spare key just now, but it appears someone in the past had glued it together, and now I have a key in 8 pieces. The internal fob part still works, but the actual key is just joined to some jaggedy plastic. Looking online I can't find what...

    New MOT test

Evening, There was a previous thread on this here, https://www.landcruiserclub.net/community/threads/updated-mot.149392/ My MoT was due by June 1st, I had it done today "just in case" but I think it would have been fine anyway, no problems. I wouldn't have bothered boring you all with this...

    Main dealer costing advice

I've already got one, I only took it to a main dealer because of the airbag recall. They said they'd do this safety inspection and came back with a bunch of "faults", which apparently don't seem to be worth the paper they're written on. My independent is aware and I'll be booking it in for them...

    Main dealer costing advice

You're almost psychic - there is no belt, but the pump hasn't seized, there's nothing wrong with the AC at all, except for the fact there's no belt. Apparently the mechanic can't tell the difference between a fan belt and the belt that drives the AC compressor ... really inspires confidence...

    Main dealer costing advice

I've spoken to the Japanese-specialist independent I've been using for the past 15 or so years, apparently they get this a lot so they're going to take a look. How can an exhaust centre section be £600?!

    Main dealer costing advice

Hi, My 100 is in for the airbag recall. While it's there they've done a "safety inspection". They've identified some issues, but I can't quite get my head around some of the numbers. AC clutch and compressor, slightly under £2000 including 4 hours labour. Exhaust centre section, £600. Front CV...

    Updated MOT

Mine's due on June 1st so I'll pop it in a bit early. Only issue I might have is the handbrake, of course. I want to get that sorted so will talk to the garage when I get it done. A lot of Land Rovers will have trouble, if they're not leaking oil, they're empty ;)

    2004 MFD failure?

Hmm, spot on. That's odd because I checked all the relevant fuses when I arrived at our destination last week and I didn't see it had blown (although I didn't pull it at the time, just a visual, we were unpacking). Just pulled it and there is no continuity. Replaced it and everything's come...

    2004 MFD failure?

Hi all, Hope you had a good Christmas, and have a Happy New Year! We spent Christmas away on the North Kent coast. On the way down I noticed the outside temperature gauge wasn't showing anything, and there were no temperatures (inside or out) showing on the LED display. Hmm. If I press the...

Ahh OK, that must be where I'm going wrong, looking for a tyre of the same dimensions as what I already have. I guess that extra 10mm width is too minor to cause any issues, and overall diameter almost unchanged. Thanks.

Hello, I've been looking around for a a good while now (including searching these here forums), but can you actually get a BFG AT K02 in a 275/60R18? BFG seem to think my 2004 100 has a 16" wheel, which is obviously not the case, so I'm a bit baffled. Am I going to have to buy some smaller...

    Dead battery or alternator?

Yes that's good advice, I also had both batteries replaced at the same time since one was about 4 years and didn't do well on a battery test.

    Dead battery or alternator?

It was the alternator, I had it replaced and the new one then turned out to be faulty because it would stop charging randomly. Had that one replaced under warranty only a couple of weeks ago, so far so good! Steve.

That was uneventful at least. Put the batteries in, drove 30 miles, no lights on the dash whatsoever the whole time. I checked both batteries as soon as I got there with the engine running, both at 12.47V, should be higher than that with the engine on. He'll see if he can refurb it before...

    Dead battery or alternator?

The belt is ok, the connector is connected although I can't reach it to ensure there's a good connection. It doesn't look burnt out or anything, of course that doesn't mean it isn't faulty. Dead battery or alternator?

Yes it's looking like the alternator isn't it, particularly since it all happened while I was driving. Thanks all. I'll check the alternator connections when it's light and not raining. No idea on battery age, I've had the car about six months. The only thing I've noticed over the past two times I'd started it, is that it didn't fire up instantly as it always does, took about half a second...

Hello, I'm in need of a new set of tyres, but 275/70R18 seem hard to come by. I spend most of my time on-road so I'm after an all-weather set. What are people using on their 18" wheels? Afternoon, I noticed this morning the driver's side is about 20mm lower than the passenger side, I'm hoping I'm not going to have AHC issues, although that would complete the "everything comes in threes" thing. Is this common? A search seems to imply it is but I'd rather it didn't tilt. The...
