Hello again folks! I decided to start a new thread. Previous information here: https://www.landcruiserclub.net/com...ut-off-solenoid-valve-not-functioning.160659/

Last year, my Colorado stopped running. Batteries were draining. Lots of issues. Since then, a lot of diagnostics have been performed, but it's still not running. Meaning, it turns over, but doesn't start. The following work has been done:
  1. battery cables have been replaced/fixed
  2. All fuses and relays reviewed, replaced as needed
  3. fuel solenoid has been removed, cleaned, and is now functioning properly
  4. attempt flashing transponder ecu modules and keys
  5. ECU rebuilt
Currently, batteries are holding the charge better, and it is turning over, but still won't start. It's back under the shade tree asking for help. The ECU is throwing a 99 code, which according to my mechanic means that the ECU is bad (just rebuilt) or there's something wrong with the transponder. My mechanic and I are at a loss. Still looking for someone locally (Ashburn, Virginia USA - in the Washington DC metro area) to look at this, but no luck so far, so I'm back here to see someone has any ideas.

>>> I should add that fuel is still not getting to the injectors, according to the mechanics...

Thanks Shayne. Complete fuel pump rebuild is beyond me (and likely my mechanic). Hoping to find someone local, but I'm about to give up and just sell the LC.

No fuel to injectors can only be a very simple blockage or the pump has failed . These are old engines now and I've never heard mention of a failed pump before , the spill valve yes but not the pump itself . so if you can find any truck with this engine going to a scrapyard its a fair bet the pump is good .

I'll talk to the mechanics, I know we fixed the solenoid. They believe that the ECU/Transponder is preventing fuel going to the injectors as a way to immobilize the truck. no fuel, doesn't start.

Too much boost cuts fuel , i can't remember how but i remember Beau on the forum was trying to work out how to trick the system

What's BOOST? from the turbo? I'm not terribly familiar with the ins and outs, just dumping money into this... :)

BTW, from what I have gathered the fuel pump is working, at least making noises, they say fuel is getting to the "filter" not to the injectors. Again, not a mechanic here, and not entirely sure of what I'm typing. :)

Yes turbo boost , the turbo compresses air forcing more into the piston chamber for a bigger bang when fuel ignites . Factory boost is set vaguely around 7psi but mine runs at the limit which is about 12psi from memory . The turbo actuator arm is shorter for more boost and longer for less .

This can't be what prevents your truck starting because the turbo is redundant until after 2000rpm - but - its an on/off switch and if its stuck or failed possibly its telling the ECU to cut fuel .

Its theory not knowledge i'm offering though I'm sure its an electric gadget of some kind from vague memory of talking to Beau about it .

Incidentally Beau moved from the UK to America taking his 1kz-te with him , not sure what state he was headed for though ?

Well I'll be damned he's somewhere in your vicinity !

Post up a pic of his truck on whatever social media they use nowadays can't be many right hand drive trucks there .
