Hi
either they are bullshiting you or they are not familiar with your type of car , after draining the oil it is less than one hour job to remove the sump and that is if a novice like you doing it . There are two sumps on our engine lower and upper , all that is needed is to take off the lower small sump 13 small bolts to be undone evenly a slight tap with a rubber mallet or a hammer with a rag round it , take off the two small nuts that hold the strainer and remove , clean the strainer and bolt it back on , now clean the sump face that mates with the upper sump and same with the face of the upper sump make sure the two surface of both sumps are clear of the silicone gasket that is used to mate both sumps , re silicone the small sump in a bead like was fitted by the factory , start from one side and put the bolts back diagonally tighten them gradually evenly fairly fast so the silicone does not dry up before your done , and its obvious you have to drop the oil first but leave oil filter in place , to be honest its very easy to do , If you are not confident to do it any garage can do it for you cheaply just explain there is two sumps on your car and you want the lower one removing aso to the clean the oil strainer . I can send you pics and institutions via Talaman if you want as I don't know how to put pics on this site but I have Talamam (Geoff) on whats app and I can send them to him and he can send them to you or give me your number and I can whats app you the pics and info . For me its easier to do the job on your car than send pic on here . If sump does not come off with a tap of a mallit use a thin blade in between the two sumps to help it unstick .
