Old musicians / performers

Wasn't aware of that one Clive (thankfully) and it does seem that the Madonna one was the second time they gave permission, so the Fugees must have been the first. I'm sure I saw it on a documentary that Hung Up was the one and only time. Hey ho, I must have imagined it.

You can keep your gold star though. [emoji4]

Thank goodness for that! I'm so relieved Rich, thanks

I don't know why, but this set me off browsing the interweb...

Found this...

Looks like there's been loads, maybe without permission....

Started learning a bit of acoustic blues, it's a bit like learning to play the guitar for the first time again, anyway I'll just leave this here

Muddy Waters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPfJoBwWRQ8

And this DDOS protection thing on the forum is really starting to annoy me....

Nice one! It set me on a trail... JLHooker, etc., lasted about an hour before my daughter interrupted

I'm not able to see most of the links now [emoji20][emoji20] via tapatalk. Only the Monsoon one on the last page works for some reason.

Edit, now found a few more, not many though.

Before I go on, in post 114 I set a little challenge which seems to have got lost.

The guitarist on the Berlin track found Kate Bush and got her into the music business. … his name…Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd.

Now, let me go find some blues tracks. [emoji4]

Went to see BB when he was 80 [emoji33] Amazing.

I love this track, the album version is so much tighter, I actually prefer it to the Wilson Picket original.

Enjoy

And this one, another artist I can take or leave but love this one.

And this (black and white no less [emoji4])

And one of the old masters

Then there's Gary Moore, great on an album, but when I went to see him, he just turned EVERY track into a huge long solo that totally lost the original track until the rest of the band gave up, literally gave up and left him to it. Shame, it just got wearing.

Not lost Rich, just didn't know the link. It was a bit lateral...

Some great stuff coming through though, Chas, Rich, Pumpy

Wow. Great, just great. And yes, John McVie got it right. Can't listen to it without a tear or two.

How about this then

And for something completely different, er, and not old…at all. [emoji4]

…these two are just so amazingly talented (and signed already), and the little 'n is certifiably adorable.

Yep, Steve Earl is in my book, similarities with Springsteen, and preferable IMO.

Never heard of the Stella Sisters, but clearly oozing with talent. Music is in their blood to be sure, no one can come up with harmonies like that without it coming from the heart, and at such a young age, remarkable!

Thanks for that Rich

little un's a sweatheart, sure we'll hear more from them in the future, lovely :)

Not my cuppa tea I'm afraid.

Just two kids, one guitar and a whole truck load of talent. Great, just great. [emoji4]

Love this remake they've done of a pop song from a few years back. They make it look effortless…

I heard a name yesterday I hadn't heard for a long time, Philip Glass, so I had a look.

I don't dislike this and the images are fabulous, so hear's one (I hope) for you Chas.

I think he had some connection with Mike Oldfield back in the 70s, early 80s.
