A late summer bbq meeting ?

Note our pitch is 33m by 12m. If we keep some space for the club social/bbq and a bit for non RTT campers, we should fit in 15 trucks.

Or 26 trucks if we pack it in like a 2nd hand car sales forecourt, but lets not do that!

We will attend the show but whether its for only a few hours or a weekend camp will be decided on how much swambo enjoys 2 weeks in a tent during the Romania trip .

I'm a bit confused with the prices shown, on the list there is £49 and below unit costs are different, which is correct?

Hey,

Need to pay for camping per unit and entry per person. So £49 for 1 person and truck, or £73 for two people in one truck.

The price down at the bottom is a breakdown of these.

Just to tie this up, we all need to book an entry and camping ticket for the weekend directly from the organiser (just like everyone else) and then somehow, we'll get a window pass or something that lets us into the main arena onto the club pitch?

I will be going with the new truck

Yes you most certainly better had be fella!

I'll book my tickets online tonight, we will prob arrive on the Thursday, & I assume that we can just tell the 'gate monkeys' that we are with the club

Based on what info i have, you do need a club token to get you into the right place. These are meant to get sent out early sept.
The thing I am trying to confirm is if they all come to me for further distribution or if they can be sent out to all the club folks directly.

Should have this cleared up on Monday. Stand by.

Ok, I'll hang fire until something is confirmed

Thusly spoke Tom:

Yes, members booking themselves is the simplest method.

All passes (trade/clubs/individual campers) are dispatched start of September. This works well, but if somebody on the forum should mention they are on the road in the weeks leading up to the show, we can always arrange ticket collection upon arrival ... it happens occasionally so it wouldn't be a problem.

So please go ahead and book yourself in. Mention on there that you want to be in the club stand. We are the "land cruiser owners club", and please can i request folks to update the spreadsheet to indicate they are booked in ( everyone else i will pester )

I have now booked & paid, but couldn't find anywhere to mention the club stand or request a pass, any suggestions of the best way to get my 'club pass'?

Andy

I emailed the organisers about passes, this is the reply I received:

'No need. Clubs can have as many vehicles on their stand as they want, so providing you have your Camping Permit/Day Admission sorted, then just tell the Marshal upon arrival that you're on the Landcruiser Owners' Club Stand, they'll direct you to it. Simples!'

 Full circle on the gate monkeys thing  . I would assume stand holders do have something different from the general public pass . What i suggest is the stand organizer shares that bit of paper , whatever it may be - an invoice a map a letter of authority , via email by way of invite , everyone prints it off shows it at the gate and worst case scenario is someone at the gate says hang on that guy has arrived 3 times already which will force him to visit the stand and find out whats going on .

I exchanged emails with Tom around this as well. He assures me that gate folks will do the right thing.

What I can do is send a copy of the pitch reservation form that i sent to the organisers for the club. Maybe print that out and bring it along ?

We're hopefully going to be at the AO show (with the cruiser) on a different stand but will obviously come and join in for beers and general merriment and piss taking :-)

For those who haven't been before it's a little more chilled out than some of the big corporate organised events...Tom is a great guy and puts a lot of personal time and effort along with a team of volunteers into organising the show!

Hi James. What stand are you going to be on then?

It's a crap website though. Ordering the tickets is medieval. Or click on the logo below. Errm logo what logo? Last year I had to apply by post. At least this year I can phone them. Jeez.
