eu in or out poll

Who else has seen this and had a smile at it?

"How did you vote?", asked Pooh
"Leave", said Piglet
"Oh, for fuck's sake", said Pooh, "Why the fuck did you do that?"
"Because if we leave, then we'll fix the NHS"
"We're not going to fix the NHS, Piglet, that was all bollocks. All the people who told you to vote Leave are the very same people who want to privatise the fucking thing"
"Oh. But anyway there's also those bloody Heffalumps"
"Heffalumps?"
"Yes, the bloody Heffalumps who keep coming to live in the wood, there are too many"
"But they do things for us, Piglet, and voting Leave won't actually stop them coming anyway"
"Oh. But I just want to get back control of the wood"
"You fucktard. You never had control of the wood, you're a fucking piglet. You're just going to get even more fucked over by different people"
"Oh. But why did you want to Remain?", asked Piglet
"I liked that everyone worked together, I felt safe"
"Is that all? You're probably still safe"
"I also fancied going to live in a different wood one day, and maybe if I had kids they would too, but now maybe we can't."
"Oh. But we'll have more honey to go around now...?"
"I'm afraid not, Piglet. We won't have to give away any honey, but there'll almost certainly be less to begin with"
"Oh. Well at least we've got rid of the pig-fucker, I didn't like him"
"I can understand that, Piglet, but have you seen the next guy!? I have a feeling he'll be doing more than just oral"
"Oh my. But they were going to build a huge scary super-wood"
"They never actually said that, and even if there were going to be a huge super-wood, would you rather be part of it, playing with all your new friends, or just outside it with nobody paying you any attention?"
"Oh, I see what you mean. But ours used to be the most important wood of all the woods"
"That's true, Piglet, but that was well over a hundred fucking years ago now, and none of us were alive. You really need to get your head out of your arse"
"But our grandparents won the big war to protect our wood, we need to make sure we keep it safe"
"Actually, that's a load of horse-shit. We won the big war to protect other people in other woods and to stop nationalist fuckers killing people because they were different. It showed that we're safer if we all work together and stop thinking of each other as different"
"But the Heffalumps, I don't like them, they're not like us"
"Fuck my luck. Piglet, you're a fucking Piglet and I'm a stuffed Bear. We're all different, that's what makes the wood a fun place to live. You like Kanga don't you? She's different"
"But Kanga's been here for ages and I like her food"
"Christ on a bike, Piglet, you are a fucking cockwomble"
"Beer?" asked Piglet
"You're buying" said Pooh, "and I want pork scratchings"
"Oh my"

Say what you like about Nigel Farage, but he is one of the only politicians with the balls to stand up and put our hopefully, former EU dictators in their place!

This is his speech from yesterday which I've found most media outlets are refusing to show:

This is his speech from yesterday which I've found most media outlets are refusing to show:

Say what you like ? Lol brace yourselves.

This guy is a complete hypocrite and has been from the outset.
He harped on about British jobs for British workers but when it came to hiring an assistant he gave the job to his German wife (let's face she has a tough enough job already having to look at his face)
Now the excuse he gave was the hours were unsociable. Yes you turd, that's why we have these things called shifts. He could have employed 2 British workers on a decent salary but instead he got his expenses pushed into his own household.
Now he thinks he has achieved some glorious victory, he goes and gloats like a little kid to the very people who we have to try and negotiate with for a chance at economic prosperity outside their organisation.
Finally his whole having a fag and a pint image is hilarious, he shifts between trying to look like the landed gentry with that hideous coat he wears, to trying to appeal to the working classes.
I think Nigel Farage in the interests of Britain should receive an OBE.

ONE BEHIND THE EAR!

Farage needs to learn some people skills, period.

Lying to support his campaign and then rubbing everyone's nose it whilst he gloats on camera will not do him or the uk any favours

I believe him to him to be one of the best public speakers I have heard.
the EU need to trade with the U.K. as you are their best market and I would
not be entering negotiations with a bashful look and my cap in my hand.
The British people I know are not like that.

He's certainly not displaying any of the conduct becoming of an Englishman.
The whole shambles began because he probably realised he was never going to find himself in any position of power in the Conservative party, regardless of his actual financial worth he is always going to be an outsider with the old Etonians and cousins of the Saxe Coberg Gotha's like Cameron and Hunt.

I think the former Belgian PM, pretty much summed Farage up :

I hope someone can confirm if the below is true or not but Nige is an opportunist, A plastic flower , an Elvis impersonator if you like. He makes all the right noises but when you look a little closer he isn't the king, he's a fat bloke in a boiler suit with sequins on. The abuse of expenses in hiring his wife is just an indication of his character and the childish speech he made just reinforces that for me.

Can anyone shed any light on this ? I don't like to rely on meme's but it wouldnt surprise me.

Define best market? We are their biggest goods market, but the US is a bigger market when services are taken into account; which they have to be. [1]

We buy about 16% of the EUs exports. They buy about 45% of ours. A poor trade agreement would damage both of us, but to differing levels.

We don't have to be bashful. We have to be diplomatic.

I guess in two wars the British gave lives and the succour to the oppressed in
Europe and I guess they have now forgotten who helped them.
I appreciate straight talking and wish more politicos would use it.

The attendance lists are published in the annexes of the meeting minutes. You can see them here : http://www.emeeting.europarl.europa.eu/committees/archives/201604/PECH

I couldn't see Nige in any I looked at but its incredibly tedious to go thhrough them all. The figure was reported in the FT last year, who claim to have gone through the docs. That was a lovely job for someone.

Pat there's straight talking and then there's bullshitting.
The Leave campaign are furiously backpedalling on every promise they made and it's only been a week.
There will be no tangible reduction in immigration, There will not be the magical 350 million to spend on the health service. Even the nations most popular comic has accepted the facts of an exit and its effect.
The whole thing was a puppet show and Farage can now pale into insignificance.

Now the whole thing about constantly politicising of the war dead and their sacrifice for me is becoming tiresome. We are turning into bloody Americans with this constant flag waggling.
Europe is the future and despite this vote it will remain so.
Sitting in a parliament building in Brussels is far better than sitting in a slit trench in Belgium, We've been down that road before and it cost millions of lives.
The blood had barely dried on the bayonets when Churchill himself called for a united states of Europe in 1946.
The world is changing and one thing this vote shows is young Europeans are probably not going to face each other across no mans land and slaughter each other, We facebook each other, we laugh at others videos on you tube, we speak each others languages etc etc.
Cool ! The old and uneducated voted out, We will run it again in a decade and we will get back in.
Sat comfortably with their final salary pensions after having a free university education it's easy to want to go back to those halycon days of Britain in it's prime .
Try a Zero hours contract, a 20 grand student loan and none existant industry to work in hoping to buy a house you'd need 4 salaries to pay for.

One of the funniest tweets i read in all of this was
"in a post Brexit UK wasteland, I'm going to hunt and kill old people"

I entirely agree that "Jaw Jaw is better than War War" however I am utterly confused by your paragraph above. That is indeed the deplorable situation many young people are facing right now after being members of the EU for more than 40 years. So what point are you trying to make?

And as for:

Well the main difference would appear to be that the older generation actually voted. Here is an article from the Independent that suggests 64% of the 18-24 group did not even bother to take themselves down to the polling station and vote.

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices...u-referendum-why-didnt-you-vote-a7105396.html

So it would appear that the total apathy of the vast majority of 18-24's was a significant factor in the Brexit campaign winning by 4%.

And as to " back to those halycon days of Britain in it's prime" **** knows when they were, not in my life time for sure.

Go on, I'll bite. I usually do. How is an impending house price crash related to the EU and their polished veneers? The article does state explicitly very little of this will be due to Brexit.

I'm not really in a fit state of mind to press my point at the mo Rob because i was up all night pointlessly going over a risky business strategy (pointless because i set out on it 2 days ago) and today was supposed to give me an indication of whether or not it was the right move .

So in order to divert my attention i decided to look at property as Helen's son and daughter are paying ridiculously expensive rental prices so i thought now might be the time to do something about it . Chanced upon the link i posted , went to sleep and was woken 40 minutes later by a right hook i could not have predicted . Boat engines are underwater limping to the nearest shore :wtf:

So yeah like everyone in gov at present i am unlikely to present an argument that won't be found unconvincing and consistently full of holes .

And so i will withdraw the statement before it is presented ;)

Hi Byron
Sorry i was a bit vague the point was about the EU jobs market being closed to people from the UK if we are foolish enough to go down the path of giving the notification of our intention to leave and if the remaining members decide to make an example of us.
I agree its bad despite being members but some British people are doing very well in Europe because of the free movement the EU offers.
I think i mentioned earlier my kids Irish passport applications are lodged just in case the EU spits out its collective dummy. Everyone seems to use Norway or even Turkey to a degree as an example of how the EU offers tarrif free trade and other beneifts to non member states and how we may secure the same cushy deal.
What they forget is that these countries are being courted to encourage them to join albeit in the long term.
No member state has actually left before, So we are very much in uncharted waters and i suspect they will make an example of us.

It's a great point about the apathy of voters, I'd go as far as to suggest that decisions of this magnitude should mean voting is mandatory. We need to step away from this archaic booth/postal voting system and issue a method of electronic voting via computer or app using a secure system of pre registration.
I suspect if you actually give people direct democracy in it's truest form then the power wielded by those who own our parties and leaders would be undermined.

Do you want the national health service to be privatised either partially or as a whole ?

Click the green box marked YES
Click the red box marked NO

I'm a child of the 70's ... Apart from the music, the strikes etc it was idyllic lol

I suspect if you actually give people direct democracy in it's truest form then the power wielded by those who own our parties and leaders would be undermined.

Only downside would be the shear stupidity of the decisions, you don't need much world experience to establish the more people involved in a decision the more stupid that final decision is

Funny thing is i'm glad i signed in here for distraction earlier . By lightheartedly and superficially comparing my personal circumstance today with the headless chickens in gov over Brexit i somehow strengthened my resolve and allowed myself an hours sleep .

I'm in quite deep and i woke up this morning a whole lot deeper than i wanted to go , but not so deep i can't afford to abort and run back to the calamity of status quo which was tempting .

I will stay on plan and test the unknown potential because the risk is short term , if i back pedal to stability the risk is of equal proportions and ever present with the potential to plod along doing ok until i get fed up of it or the gov shuts me down because some office numptys pet gold fish died .

So im old and uneducated..:screamcat:

If the shoe fits :tearsofjoy:

I joke of course, but lets face it the gutter press and the daily fail have been whipping the electorate into a frenzy for months. No actual real information was given and the fact that google had a spike of people searching for "What is the EU" after the vote just shows what a shambles it was.
I've no objection to anyone voting for anything on their own reasoning or after making an informed choice but you really have to see this video to see the problem we face. Governments love a docile and uninformed electorate, how else do 3 people from the same class at school end up being PM, Chancellor and front runner for the PM's role ?

Only downside would be the shear stupidity of the decisions, you don't need much world experience to establish the more people involved in a decision the more stupid that final decision is

Eeeek! So we ban voting altogether then?

Actually I think a move to electronic voting would be a good thing. Much of the mechanics are already in place with the (rather clunky) Government Gateway system and electronic voter registration.
