bit of an update on my 70 rebuild.
firstly i bought a set of LJ78 radious and trailing arms in from home, and they are as i thought identical to my 70 ones, theyve also got bushes which are in much better condition than mine. so my plan is to use them for now until i get around to making new rose jointed arms.
ive been busy rust killing and under-sealing the underneath, which has been a messy horrible job. it has also been tricky trying to keep the dog out of all the lumps of black underseal that are now all over the workshop floor.
rear axle is now all painted up, having had 2 coats of black.
repair is now almost invisible.
tonight i started work on the replacement rear trailing arms.
they were very dirty, so i took them outside and covered them in jizz!
after then giving them a blast off with the pressure steam cleaner i used the angle grinder with wire brush attachment to remove all the rust.
then gave them and the panhard rod a coat of black paint.
i then did some waxoiling, so i first sat the tin in hot water for 40mins to soften it up, as per the instructions on the tin.
spray gun
i got a good coat inside all the chassis cross members and the main legs of the chassis.
filled the sills.
