Slow update...New bumper is fitted...I love it, here you can see during a twist test
IMG_4784_1280x960.JPG
IMG_4785_1280x960.JPG

Twist is 71cm, not bad for a Lj70 I think...

As I said, there was the Maggiora meeting, 3 days of 4wd ! And also this time I come back home without big damages! My toyota was one of most stock car, the other ones have bigger wheels and high lift

Not a good day for all...

IMG_4885_720x960.JPG

Or new type of door opening ?? :D

IMG_4884_720x960.JPG

If someone would like to see, here there is some videos of these days

Interesting new diff oil change :D :D
IMG_4909_1280x960.JPG
However, I don't need it....but I buyed because I always dreamed it
Front ARB Diff. I Found a really good price and I can't resist it

IMG_5082_720x960.JPG

So I started with disassembling my front axle...and I Found RUST inside the diff...I can't believe!! I decided also to change front bushes, that were destroyed....but old one are really hard to extract
IMG_5255_1280x960.JPG IMG_5256_1280x960.JPG IMG_5259_1280x960.JPG IMG_5260_1280x960.JPG IMG_5261_1280x960.JPG
Now I have to bring front differential to a professionist to assemble it

IMG_5268_1280x960.JPG

See you soon....for next update :D

Amazing!
Can you tell me about performans of 2lt with bigger turbo and intercooler? Did you adjust more fuel for bigger turbo?
which is your lift kit, which brand and how higher? I have OME +5cm but I dont have like that roll performance.
And finaly, where is that amazing nature and wonderfull mountains, which county of Italy,I traveled everywhere in Italy but mostly through cities and coast.

Very cool. Rust inside eh? Looks like it has been wading then.
I don't know why....is first time it has been opened in 32years....maybe your right...some water was inside...I put some rust converter as you can seen...I hope it could be enough

@bobo2 nowadays I didn't add fuel because I don't have a egt sensor to be sure of what I'm doing...
So my experience is only new turbo, 0.7 bar & intercooler: No smoke, lower water temperature and low fuel consumption...
I have tested it with an app (not perfect but just for understand) stock it was 86.5cv@3753rpm & 170nm@2833rpm
now I'm at 105cv @ 3775rpm & 220nm@2200rpm
I think that it was a great result, without fuel modification! On the road there aren't big different, you could see difference at low rpm, you don't need to use always first & second gear...but at high speed I think there is no difference...I didn't test top speed..But with low range gear there is a lot of difference I could use 2nd and 3rd gear (before I have always to use 1st gear)...I'm really happy of it.

My lift is a +6 cm of HM4x4, they make progressive spring...but I have still the old suspensions (+5cm lovells) furthermore I 'll buy +6cm Hm4x4 suspensions

What is it?

I've just installed rear arb locker and I have not had any issue...For the front one I also get new bearings 50mm instead off 45mm ones

Hello my friends and my followers,
sorry for the long time without update, but I have always less time, incredible.
However I didn't stop my work on Toy.

Front Diff with ARB was fitted, and arms come back on toy with OEM brushes on the front and superpro for the rear. Next time, I have do to same thing for the rear, but I wouldn't spend (40$x4) for original brushes, I'll try japanparts'one, hoping the could work on the rear.

IMG_5495_720x960.JPG
IMG_5496_720x960.JPG

I've also connected all the gauges, so now I have Water Temp, Oil Temp and Oil pressure (turbo gauge is in a different position) and added new position for arb switch.

IMG_5911_1280x960.JPG IMG_5968_1280x960.JPG IMG_6324_1280x960.JPG

I believe that oil pressure is high when engine is cold...I hope that gauge is no perfect, when is hot I read good value(2bar at idle and 5bar at high rpm)

During a short trip in the evening with my friend, I have to use my winch to recovery him after rear differential explosion, it was a long recover, so after that I prefered check inside my winch and have a good cleaning of it

IMG_6329_1280x960.JPG
IMG_6338_1280x960.JPG

Is a cheap chinese shit winch, slow but it works :D :D :D
Inside I think that water is passed, so a good cleaning and new grease is a must
IMG_6416_1280x960.JPG IMG_6418_1280x960.JPG IMG_6419_1280x960.JPG IMG_6424_1280x960.JPG IMG_6428_1280x960.JPG IMG_6429_1280x960.JPG

Engine side was perfect instead...IMG_6432_1280x960.JPG IMG_6433_1280x960.JPG

And the winch come back on toy :D

IMG_6434_1280x960.JPG IMG_6436_1280x960.JPG IMG_6437_1280x960.JPG

Well....After the old two days of off road meeting last october, I have a strange vibration on the rear left..
So i decided to change rear left axle....and it was a good choose :D :D

IMG_6442_1280x960.JPG
The only HARD THING to do, was change rear bearing on the axle! It was incredible, axle is so long that didn't enter in the press... It wasn't a nice work :D but with good hammer i WIN :D

IMG_6443_1280x960.JPG
And new pads is on :D
IMG_6444_1280x960.JPG
IMG_6445_1280x960.JPG
IMG_6448_1280x960.JPG

(new pads also on the rear right :D)
IMG_6495_1280x960.JPG

And last thing I've done is fitting the snorkel!
I tried to install the "land Cruiser badge" on the snorkel, but I wasn't able to fix it right! Subsequently i added a chinese (less that 2$ ) chinese side light :D :D IMG_6533_1280x960.JPG IMG_6537_1280x960.JPG
IMG_6708_1280x960.JPG

And the NEW turbo is FITTED!!

I started installing new intercooler in front of the vehicle:

And next week i've installed new turbo (2256v VGT) :D :D

View attachment 145873

Now I'm running at 0,7 bar pressure ( wastegate is 0.9 pressure but I think that air line + intercooler make it lower)

But now I have first pressure at 1700-1800 rpm and full boost al 2000 rpm....

Now I'll test it for some trips with this configuration, than I'll try to adjust diesel and pressure to find best match

Hi from Ljubljana, Slovenia.
I work a lot on my LJ70 in last year or so. My Toyota is same as yours 2.4 TD, 86Hp, 1986. Can you tell me exactly which model of intercooler do you have? My wishes are the same - better performance and NO smoke. Buying right size of IC is my question.
In next months I will present my reconstruction in LJ70. Now car is much more usable and I enjoy it.
Does someone has digital Manual for LJ70? I will need it for download. Thanks in advance.
Regards ToyoMac - Andrej
