Old musicians / performers

Great link, I wasn't aware of what she's doing lately.

She's just fantastic in every way.

She is, absolutely brilliant. I was trying to find 'Glitter in the Air' at the Grammys but it seems to have gone.

The gig at the O2 was fantastic. I think we may have seen the last of P!nk, but I'm certain Alecia Moore is going to be coming out with more brilliant stuff.

The album is brilliant BTW.

Here's a couple more for you.

Found this and this lurking on my USB stick in the car as well...

The vids make me cringe a bit, but the songs are good and bring back some memories...

Nice one (4) Rich, weened on all those, plus Zeppelin, Supertramp, King Crimson and Focus to name just a few.

Sadly, I have to admit there was a phase of Elton in there somewhere, it soon passed, yet I still like the long intro on Funeral for a Friend.... (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road II track 1 IIRC)

And then there's this guy, Big Jim Sullivan, one of the best guitarists of all time, sadly now gone but used to gig the pubs round here. In fact, seeing him had a part in me meeting Lynn.

Not much on the net on him but here's a couple, not his finest but still great…

I've been hearing this for weeks, thought it was an old song from the 70's

Who's it remind you of? I thought Dylan, I can't get the song it reminds me of tho, it was driving me nuts, so I've started learning it :laughing-rolling:

Nice to hear something modern that didn't come out of a talent show , wonder how long it will take Cowell to get hold of him and mold him into another of his completely forgettable superstars :icon-rolleyes:

Seems to me all these talent shows are killing individuality in music . I remember seeing a guy on a talent show (American i think) i don't watch that kind of crap but something about this guy caught my attention as soon as he walked on the stage . Young maybe 20 and i recognised in him somebody who had been around the block for 60 years or more .
"Hi i'm ????? and i'm going to sing dock of the bay" end of conversation . Judges wow hang on there - where are you from , shrug "nowhere in particular" Judges well where did you come from today , Shrug "i've been on the road for 3 weeks to get here"

He went to the keyboard and started and for him he was alone in a room and the audience didn't exist . Brilliant the kid was dripping cool and he didn't even know it . I thought to myself if they change anything about him they may as well shoot him .

The judges were impressed ...... and then they started with you need to lose the cap - embrace the audience - be like all the other numpties who make us money . I have spent a few hours more than once trying to discover what became of him without luck , he might be knocking out number 1 hits with an entirely different persona now or , and more likely i think , he has disappeared back to obscurity because guys like that aren't easily molded into something else .

this was his first one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3lyMhOize8

which also sounds like it's been lifted from the late 60's early 70's, reminds me of Neil Young, or a young Cat Stevens maybe

Think we'll definately be hearing more from Jake Bugg tho!

Yep, I like that, the kid has got it. Hope he doesn't go down the show-biz road, some manage to avoid it!

A bit Damien Rice, if both Rice and Bugg both forgive me...
