The people have spoken

a dangerous shift to the right

Where are you seeing that exactly ?

All i see are normal people who have no interest in globalization never mind world domination , they are sick and tired of pledges of vast expense made behind closed doors when they can't even get a dental appointment .

It's a politicians selfishness that makes them accountable , a weakness they cured by merging into a multinational bureaucracy of zero accountability .

And the majority don't like its as simple as that .

Yes a small minority of the electorate have voted leave , a decision that Cameron or most others thought impossible.so in that sense it's been a good thing but what has followed has done great damage to the country & it's not over yet.The loss of reputation is IMO a positive outcome , the idea that GB is a great power is neither true nor useful but this is,what has driven most Tory europhobia. This & the constant xenophobia - something that Labour under Blair whipped up - served up by the press & most politicians has resulted in a dangerous shift to the right & once again let off the hook those responsible for the constant cuts to public services , stagnant wages & increased indebtedness.
A lot of the criticism of the EU is IMO correct - a collection of powerful interests , mostly unelected & unaccountable lobbying for their own benefit - but to paint it as a conspiracy is absurd.
As for the UKs own unaccountable rulers , the vast majority , Corbyn included , have never had a real job in their lives , never had to make ends meet & really graft to provide for their families. Most of them don't use the NHS or other public services or state schools. The worst of them are spivs & chancers who have gotten where they are through privilege & the connections that comes with it.Their profound ignorance of how we live us only matched by their contempt for us.So can you really put your hand on your heart & say that Johnson , Rees Mogg or Farage really give a toss for anything other than their own interests? Or those who favour Corbyn or any of the others - do you really think they can make your life better & fulfill their promises?
Brexit is another manufactured crisis , helped along by a good dose of hubris & incompetence.Like the wars on terror & drugs it's designed to cause a fearful , emotional response to something that doesn't pose anywhere near the the dangers that we are told.
Meanwhile austerity , crappy low paying insecure jobs , unaffordable housing & rising poverty are blamed on those without a voice. Our PM was sacked for lying , has a history of racist comments & as a child stated the he wanted to be"king of the world" when he grew up.what could go wrong?
Yes the people have spoken but some of them were taking bollocks.
Politicians ( MPs , Lords ) are the biggest benefit cheats and parasites in Britain , and will be even more so after Brexit IMO .

do you think the vote was rigged.

So what your saying is that anyone who voted 'leave' is 'thick'

we live in a Democracy,
No I don't think the vote was rigged.I'm not a remainer or pro Brexit , I'm indifferent. The fact that our rulers are suddenly keen on respecting the people's views should be a cause for concern as they normally ignore what we want. Why now , why is Brexit suddenly the one decision that they want to respect? Most Tory voters want the renationalisation of the railways but it isn't even a policy advocated by Labour.
I don't think people are thick , just ignorant & uninformed. Our society & economy rely on the fact that most people don't think about their choices & act on emotions. The mis selling of mortgages , pensions , insurance etc.demonstates that most folks don't read the small print & haven't got a clue as to what's really going on.A New Audi Q3 sportback only 299 a month? Happy days.
What we have is an illusion of democracy.we're given a binary choice every few years & asked y endorse someone else's ideas.

That's me a nutshell mate.I just can't see that lining up with Tory spivs will change anything

More a reflection of modern society imo. People are ignorant by there own doing. We are all lucky enough to have choices in this country.
They are more interested in social media and the celebrity culture than boring politics and Bank statements.
They see what other people may have and think they are equally entitled to the same, with or without the hardwork.
Don't worry about it.
We are all living in a artificial bubble created by ourselves. Our worries and concerns are largely superficial and materialistic in the western world.
Thing is, the planet is buckling under overpopulation. The thing most people value the most won't feed us, shelter us, nor keep us warm when the shit hits the fan.
Mother nature cares little about what car you have on the drive, or how big your TV is...

Somebody somewhere says we all have to scrap our cars and buy a new one , so to whom do i send my letter of objection ? who do i vote against , who do circa 500 million people tell they don't agree with this ?

No one is there to listen Shayne. They are all singing off the same song sheet on this one. Just keep driving your old motor..

Aye we could sack every single one of them at voting time but it would make no difference . It might with somethings though if the rules were made in Britain and concerned only Britain .

Someone asked earlier why they are suddenly interested in what people want , and the answer is , me my party selfishness . There is no point in voting when even an absolute majority can't change policy .

Thatcher shot herself in the foot with poll tax but of course that was a national affair and so her replacement had a rethink , good job poll tax wasn't thought up in Brussels huh .

a lot of the so called choices are an illusion dependent on how much money you have.Is having hundreds of different electricity tariffs really helpful? Time is the most valuable commodity we have as individuals 6 its no wonder that people make important decisions based on emotion.we are mostly brought up & educated to accept authority & convention without question. The ting abou being ignorant is that you dont know you're ignorant.....
And then we have disinformation - political propaganda & advertising - how many millions are spent on selling us sugared water or so called food thats wrecking some peoples health?

Can you put in a few simple word what it is you trying to say, what you stand for, what you political leaning is, I'm having trobule understanding what you are trying to get across, because every post you make rambles on and on, just spit it out what you want from the UK.

You say you don't like Corbin, you don't like Johnson, you say you don't like Her at the Lib Dem, you say your not in either camp Leave or Remain, so what is it you want.

I know what I like, and that's the fact you have a Land Cruiser and it's full of wood. :):)

Nothing.I left a long time ago.I'm a libertarian , I don't like authority , politicians or corporate control in my life.I'm interested in discussions about these subjects. As I've said Brexit is a distraction.Choosing between two sets of privileged , unaccountable elites is pointless.
Some of this is complicated & needs explanation.Chapel Gate has written at length - is that rambiling ?

When you say "I left a long time ago" what exactly do you mean? also I wonder what the opposite to 'authority' is, you must know as you cannot dislike one without knowing what the opposite means

I have not read most of the other posts, although I have read some of chapel gate's, 'ramblings' but I find your 'ramblings' more intresting, as you seem to dsilike anything and everyone.

According to good old Wikipedia.

Libertarians share a skepticism of authority and state power, but they diverge on the scope of their opposition to existing economic and political systems. Various schools of libertarian thought offer a range of views regarding the legitimate functions of state and private power, often calling for the restriction or dissolution of coercive social institutions.[5]

Libertarianism originated as a form of left-wing politics and refers to anti-authoritarian and anti-state socialists such as anarchists and more generally libertarian communists and libertarian socialists. Left-libertarian ideologies seek to abolish capitalism and private ownership of the means of production, or else to restrict their purview or effects, in favor of common or cooperative ownership and management, viewing private property as a barrier to freedom and liberty.[6][7][8][9][10]

Left-libertarian ideologies include anarchist schools of thought such as anarcho-communism, anarcho-syndicalism, egoist anarchism and mutualism, alongside many other anti-paternalist, New Left schools of thought centered around economic egalitarianism as well as American left-libertarianism such as geolibertarianism, left-wing market anarchism and the Steiner–Vallentyne school. Right-libertarian ideologies such as anarcho-capitalism and minarchism co-opted[11][12] the word libertarian in the mid-20th century to instead advocate laissez-faire capitalism and strong private property rights such as in land, infrastructure and natural resources.

Anarchism is an anti-authoritarian political and social philosophy[1] that rejects hierarchies deemed unjust and advocates their replacement with self-managed, self-governed societies based on voluntary, cooperative institutions. These institutions are often described as stateless societies,[2] although several authors have defined them more specifically as distinct institutions based on non-hierarchical or free associations.[3] Anarchism's central disagreement with other ideologies is that it holds the state to be undesirable, unnecessary, and harmful.[4]

Anarchism is usually placed on the far-left of the political spectrum,[5] and much of its economics and legal philosophy reflect anti-authoritarian interpretations of communism, collectivism, syndicalism, mutualism, or participatory economics.[6] As anarchism does not offer a fixed body of doctrine from a single particular worldview,[7] many anarchist types and traditions exist and varieties of anarchy diverge widely.[8] Anarchist schools of thought can differ fundamentally, supporting anything from extreme individualism to complete collectivism.[9] Strains of anarchism have often been divided into the categories of social and individualist anarchism, or similar dual classifications.[10]

I now understand why you rant and ramble, and if you view 'private property' as barrier to freedom and liberty, can I have all of your 'private property' please. :):)
