So I ended up popping in for the afternoon. Glad I went and got the opportunity to put a few names to faces and poke my head into a few stores.

Disappointed I missed the opportunity to camp on The weekend.... Will have to make an extra effort for the next event.

I hope everyone travels home safely!

Dylan.

A good weekend (I think) was had by all, 20 cruisers yesterday image.jpg

What a superb weekend. Loved it. Obviously getting a bunch of like minded idiots together really works well. Glad we made sure we did the whole weekend. It was cold at night but the days made up for it. We ended up being the last ones leavin the pitch and finally got away around 5.

Weeked meeting some new faces and havin a look at other people's trucks.

if we do it again next year it's defo not an event to miss. The social side of it I enjoy. The show itself was ok for a wander around as and when.

Thanks Geekokent for the organising.

Big thanks to Stu for the box collection and a big thanks to Trev and Ed for bringing the wheels along. ;)

Thanks everyone for coming along. It was great meeting up!

Thanks for organising and the guided tour.

Bloody brilliant weekend. You guys made it. Cruisers rock.

Can't say more.

Oh yes I can. The show was shite. Again. But I told you that ages ago. Now you might believe me.

The gate trolls can suck my .....

Hey, great weekend - good to meet you guys in person, even if I was lurking in the Sprinter, rather than my 80 series! Now back home - 2 ferries and 490 miles on the van in two and half days :-D

Karl - thanks again for the hospitality mate - good crack - sorry I had to bunk off whilst you were still in your tent.

Took loads of photos - will go through them later and post a few for anyone that didn't make it there...

Great meeting everyone and putting faces to names. Really pleased we came along and a bit sorry to be leaving earlier than planned.

Got half hour down the road and my AC compressor seized solid burning the clutch. Fortunately I hit the switch pretty quickly once it started to squeal!![emoji20]

Took 3.5 hrs to get to Heaver Castle as M25 was a car park in places so went A25. Pulled a few cars out though and had no bother whatsoever (of course!) where Shoguns and Surfs were struggling, mind you it was like treading on a sponge in places. [emoji4]

At least I managed to get there.

Great weekend all, met some great people and will do it again (but better if I can).

Cheers for a great weekend guys. Always like meeting people i can share vodka laced cidre with

Yes thanks, he came and found me.

Well another disorganised Adventure Overland Show, not enough food stands, not enough exhibitors and those that were there were not in the places shown on the original site map, but what made this years exceptional was The Land Cruiser Club stand almost like a mini Lincomb. It was great to put a few faces to names at last.
I think a good time was had by all, certainly by me apart from Friday night when I experimentally tried sleeping in the back of the truck instead of the roof tent.
If it had been a success I was going to sell the tent but I found that inside was extremely cold even with an insulating mattress an a double duvet.
Saturday night I reverted to the top of the truck and was as snug as a bug in a rug, the tent is more insulated than inside of the truck so the tent will be staying (until I can afford a pop top anyway)
I sold my previous Garmin satnav to GeekOKent and with the proceeds I bought a few small goodies, a replacement power steering fluid reservoir from Karl, and from Stan Overlander a one hand operated insulated drinks bottle I also invested in a Jetboil Flash from Stan which when I got home and tried it out it boiled a cup of water in 55 seconds, impressive or what?
So a few pics;

Land Cruisers as far as the eye can see, I think we finally had a total of 21

Dylan.

Hey, looks like i missed you there. Glad you could make it!

Highly recommend the camping though. The evening conversions were absolutely ace.

Key lessons learnt:
Just bring you own food ( and next time i will try do a better job of having a larger bbq pit for more sharing)

Don't rely too much on site facilities.

Beware noodles.

It gets properly cold out there at night.

Don't put up the common shelter, if no one is going to actually sit under it.

Oztents really do need the fly sheet for cold weather camping. Otherwise they are just condensation traps.

Thanks kingtom for the awesome sausages and the double fried chip. Thanks stumog for the lamb chops, starcruiser for the fire wood and the rat, andy for negotiating and holding down the largest club pitch at the show. And everyone for the fantastic advice, comments and general chinwag.

This club is some real cool people, and the trucks are not bad either.

PS. Still unsure as to what to make of the 'toyota surf appreciation society'.
